We really enjoyed chalking the giant boards at Zinburger Atlanta. Here's what they looked like before we got our hands on them:

We sent some sketches to management and refined what we wanted it to look like. We came up with a final proposal and tweaked it some more. They gave us headers and generic ideas of what they wanted, so we worked hard to ensure that what we developed was consistent with their branding while fitting with the overall ambience of the restaurant itself.
Once we had a set plan, we went to work! Management had the foresight to completely repaint the boards prior to our arrival. If you haven't heard the [horrible] legends, chalk markers don't come off of porous surfaces, especially chalkboard paints. When they had erased the old menus, the colors lingered in the background, creating a "ghosting" effect. So, they decided to start fresh. It made all the difference! It took us at least 20 hours (we lost count!) to complete these boards from start to finish.
Our favorite parts were the little details on the giant board. We drew a milkshake, a Lucky Buddha beer, the Creature Comforts logo, and more... Too fun!
This was a really great project! Thanks again, Zinburger!
